Public Espacios Spectated
This body of paintings comes from reference photos taken in
New York City. There is a suggestion of time and space in the work as an
attempt to recognize the transitive quality of public spaces. The imagery is
articulated to suggest the conflicting relationship between the identity of
individual and the group. The process in each work involves multiple layers of
paint application with the use of masking techniques.
