Revisiting the landscape

Tierra and Land, 30x40in, o/c, by Daniel Ochoa

Two new paintings at Julie Nester Gallery. These are pastoral landscapes from West Sonoma County, California, where I grew up. The intent in the work is to illicit an emotional connection with place and time. Within the layers of paint there is writing describing specific memories, and a masking process is used to suggest multiple atmospheric conditions.
